Representatives from the Higher Learning Commission will visit the University of Nebraska Lincoln and Medical Center campuses Oct. 5-7. The visit will follow up on the new accreditation status for UNL and UNMC approved earlier this year, while also fulfilling the 10-year accreditation review for the newly unified institution.
During the three-day visit, HLC representatives will hold meetings and tour portions of both campuses and meet with faculty, staff, and administrators. Discussions will focus on areas including experiential learning, statewide partnerships and engagement, and stewardship of university resources.
Faculty, staff, and administrators are invited to participate in three open sessions with HLC representatives on Monday, Oct. 5, at the Nebraska East Union on the Lincoln campus. Sessions will focus on criteria established by the HLC:
- 11:10-11:50 a.m. — Mission and governance
- 3:30-4:15 p.m. — Educational programs
- 4:15-5 p.m. — Financial resources and planning
